York Yuletide Christmas Rooibos Tisane – 4 oz Tin

York Yuletide is a lovely seasonal blend with a warm, inviting aroma. The first thing I noticed when brewing this tea was the gentle scent of chocolate with a little spice in the background. 🍫

The cacao nibs provide a beautiful, light chocolate taste that is smooth and pleasantly mellow. There is just a hint of cinnamon, adding a touch of warmth without overpowering the chocolate. The green rooibos provides a mild, smooth base that allows the other flavors to shine. It's a comforting cup with a nice balance of chocolate and spice, perfect for the holiday season! ☕️

I’m usually a “black tea girl” but I’m always open to trying something new.
Cue the York Yuletide from Apothecary & Leaf! I decided to be a rebel and try this one iced. I loved the light color and aroma yet it still tasted decadent with the cinnamon and chocolate. Paired with some holiday treats it might be best hot but I’m glad I tried it iced while the temps are still mild.

A beautifully executed dessert tea! Cream, vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate, and a hint of cinnamon.

A bit of milk and your preferred sweetener will take this tea to the next level.

This is a very good tea. As one who usually doesn't go for rooibos teas, this one tasted like Nutella in a cup! It is a light and sweeter tea and it is one you can enjoy in the evening and as a special treat especially if you are sensitive to caffeine later in the day like I am. This tea smells very good and it is naturally sweet and does not have any astringency. This is one I would consider buying again.

The aroma when I opened the package takes me immediately to a sweets shop in a market square with fresh pralines, vanilla caramel fudge, spiced candied almonds, and sugar cookies. I typically like a stronger rooibos but was light handed on this steep so the flavors are all very light. All of the above notes are present on the palate along with more confectioners sugar and warm apple fritter. It’s like drinking a Cinnabon! I will brew a little stronger next time but this is a light and lovely rooibos blend. All of the ingredients work so well together for a sweet treat any time of day.

I enjoyed a pot of Apothecary and Leaf’s York Yuletide on a cool fall morning. The light copper color is beautiful while admiring the fall leaves. This is my first time trying a green rooibos and I like how the grassy undertones balance the cinnamon and cacao nibs. The spices and lingering herbaceous warmth was wonderful while listening to the wind in the trees. The nutty and spicy flavors made for a medium, smooth mouth feel.

While not a huge fan of Rooibos, I was eager to try this blend to see if it would change my mind, and it did! I found it to be a bit lighter (in a good way) than some of the heavy black holiday blends I’ve tried, but the flavors of cinnamon, hazelnut and chocolate came through nicely. It would go great with some holiday desserts, or would even be good instead of dessert! I think it would also make a great alternative to cider.
